Novel Strategy for Alzheimer’s Disease Treatment through Oral Vaccine Therapy with Amyloid Beta

چکیده

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neuropathology characterized by progressive cognitive impairment and dementia. The attributed to senile plaques, which are aggregates of amyloid beta (Aβ) outside nerve cells; neurofibrillary tangles, filamentous accumulations phosphorylated tau in loss neurons the brain tissue. Immunization an AD mouse model with Aβ-eliminated pre-existing plaque amyloids prevented new accumulation. Furthermore, its effect showed that function can be improved passive immunity without side effects, such as lymphocyte infiltration mice treated vaccine therapy, indicating possibility therapy for AD. Further, considering effects due direct administration Aβ, practical use safe oral vaccine, expressed Aβ plants, expected. Indeed, this reduced accumulation brain. Moreover, almost no expression inflammatory IgG was observed. Therefore, vaccination prior or at early stage may prevent from causing

Alzheimers Disease: A Novel Hypothesis for the Development and the Subsequent Role of Beta Amyloid

Spirochetes, biofilms, and innate immune system activity have all been recently found in the brains of Alzheimer’s disease patients. The mechanism and actions of those factors in producing the disease were discussed in those studies. However, neither the production nor the role of beta amyloid was included in the discussion of those studies. In this commentary, we hypothesize how the developmen...

Amyloid Beta and Tau Proteins as Therapeutic Targets for Alzheimer's Disease Treatment: Rethinking the Current Strategy

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is defined by the concurrence of accumulation of abnormal aggregates composed of two proteins: Amyloid beta (Aβ) and tau, and of cellular changes including neurite degeneration and loss of neurons and cognitive functions. Based on their strong association with disease, genetically and pathologically, it is not surprising that there has been a focus towards developing th...

Alzheimers Disease: Review of Emerging Treatment Role for Intravenous Immunoglobulins

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder. Currently available therapies are symptomatic but do not alter underlying disease progression. Immunotherapeutic approaches such as anti Aβ peptide active vaccination trials have had limited success to date. Intravenous immunoblobulin (IVIg) is widely used in immune-mediated neurological disorders such myasthenia gravis and...

Novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease by peripheral administration of agents with an affinity to beta-amyloid.

Plaques containing beta-amyloid (Abeta) peptides are one of the pathological features of Alzheimer's disease, and the reduction of Abeta is considered a primary therapeutic target. Amyloid clearance by anti-Abeta antibodies has been reported after immunization, and recent data have shown that the antibodies may act as a peripheral sink for Abeta, thus altering the periphery/brain dynamics. Here...
